Shamyra Howard-Brooks
As we proudly launched the official website for Unknown Battles of Life, we honored one of the hearts behind our mission—Shamyra.
Shamyra embodied everything this organization stood for. Living with sickle cell disease, she understood the reality of fighting battles that were often unseen. Yet through every challenge, her love for people never wavered. Her strength, compassion, and resilience were not only inspiring—they became part of the very foundation of why Unknown Battles of Life was created.
This organization was built to bring awareness, support, and hope to individuals facing silent struggles, and Shamyra’s journey served as a powerful reminder of that purpose. She represented the voices that were often unheard and the courage it took to keep going, even on the hardest days.
As a board member, Shamyra brought authenticity, lived experience, and a deep commitment to uplifting others. Her passion helped drive the mission forward, ensuring that no one facing an unknown battle felt alone.
